01 / Platform

Everything you need to ship.

Source, builds, environment variables, databases, storage, and traffic in one place. You bring the code; Kite runs the rest.

Deployments

Every push becomes an isolated build and a deployment you can inspect, promote, or roll back.

Explore the platform

Preview deployments

Each branch and pull request gets its own URL, its own environment, and its own logs.

How previews work

Managed databases

Postgres, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, CouchDB, ArangoDB, SQL Server, or Redis provisioned beside the project that uses it.

Compare the engines

KiteStorage

Buckets with their own credentials, endpoint, and a hard capacity cap billed per gigabyte.

Storage details

KiteRegistry

Private OCI and Docker images with per-workspace credentials and usage-based billing.

Custom domains

Attach your own hostname to a project and the router serves whichever deployment you promote.

Analytics

Pageviews, visitors, top routes, and Core Web Vitals per project. Included on Pro and Enterprise.

03 / How it works

Three steps to a live URL.

The same three steps apply to a static site, an API, a container image, and a database-backed app.

  1. Connect a repository

Link a private GitHub repository to a project and pick the runtime, or leave it to detection. Nothing leaves your workspace until you deploy.

GitHub repository · private repos supported

  2. Push or deploy

Every push starts an isolated build. Install and build run in a disposable environment with a warm dependency cache, and the source is uploaded by the CLI when you ship from your machine.

Git push · kite deploy . · Dockerfile

  3. Promote to production

Open the preview URL and check the change. When it looks right, promote that deployment to production, or roll back to an earlier ready build.

Preview URL · promotion · rollback

04 / Runtimes

Bring the stack you already use.

Kite reads your project files, picks a runtime, and runs the right install and build for it. Override anything with a project config file.

Node.jsruntime

Node.js

Bun and Node runtimes for APIs, servers, and workers. Pin the Node version in your project config.

Goruntime

Go

Compiled binaries built with the Go toolchain and served from an isolated container.

Rustruntime

Rust

Cargo release builds compiled in a Rust toolchain and run as a standalone binary.

Pythonruntime

Python

Python 3.12 by default, 3.9 for older pins. Dependencies install into the runtime image.

Javaruntime

Java

Maven or Gradle builds on JDK 21, with Spring Boot detected from your build file.

PHPruntime

PHP

Composer install, then Laravel or Symfony served from a PHP 8.3 runtime.

Dockerruntime

Docker

Build from your Dockerfile or run an image from KiteRegistry.

KiteRegistry

Frameworks detected automatically

  • Next.js Next.js
  • Nuxt Nuxt
  • SvelteKit SvelteKit
  • Astro Astro
  • Vite Vite
  • Django Django
  • FastAPI FastAPI
  • Flask Flask
  • Laravel Laravel
  • Spring Boot Spring Boot

React, Vue, Svelte, and plain static output are detected too. Docker projects are detected from the Dockerfile, and images can be pulled from KiteRegistry without rebuilding them.

05 / Infrastructure

The parts you would otherwise run yourself.

Kite owns the boring parts of shipping: disposable build environments, traffic routing, secrets, logs, and the deploy history that lets you undo a release.

  • Isolated builds

Each build runs in a disposable container with its own dependency cache, so one project can never touch another project’s files.

  • Edge routing

Every deployment sits behind the Kite router. Static assets are served from the edge with immutable caching, dynamic traffic goes to the runtime.

  • Environment secrets

Values are encrypted at rest, scoped per project and environment, and injected at build or runtime only. Rotate them from the dashboard.

  • Build and runtime logs

Watch the build stream while it runs, then read the runtime log of the container that is serving traffic.

  • Rollback and promotion

Promote any ready deployment to production, or restore an earlier build in one click. The old deployment stays warm while you decide.

  • Webhooks

GitHub push and pull request webhooks start deployments automatically and are verified with a per-project secret.

  • CLI and API

Automate with the kite CLI, REST API v1, and scoped API tokens. The same pipeline runs whether a human or a script triggers it.

06 / CLI and API

Ship from the terminal.

The CLI, the REST API, and the registry all talk to the same deployment pipeline. Use whichever fits the job: a human pushing from a laptop, a CI job posting a tarball, or a Docker image you already built.

  • CLI — upload a folder and watch the build until it is serving traffic.
  • REST API — create deployments with a token and a tarball, no CLI needed.
  • Docker — push private images to KiteRegistry and deploy them straight from a Dockerfile.

09 / FAQ

Questions before you deploy.

If something is missing here, the documentation has the details, and the team answers on GitHub.

Read the docs

Everything is priced in South African rands (ZAR), and every price you see already includes 15% VAT. Invoices itemise the VAT amount separately, and a PDF receipt is available from the billing page. If you hit a plan limit the API returns a 402 that names the limit and the plan that raises it, so you can upgrade without guessing.
